1) Never share accounts with anyone.
2) Change your character name, if it is the same as your log-in name, so no one will be able to see your log-in name in-game.
3) Make sure you have a hard to guess password with both letters and digits.
4) Never give out your password, bank pin, recovery questions answers, or any other account info to anyone.
6) Use a separate password for RuneScape, do not make it the same as your email, etc.
7) Set recovery questions that you will remember, as they can help you get your account back if stolen.
8) If you do not already have one registered already, link an email to your account.
9) Change your password and recovery questions every few days.
10) Keep it a secure place only you would have access to, if you choose to write down your account info down.
11) Do not fall for Phishing scams in emails; Jagex does not email players and as such any RuneScape related emails are likely to be fraudulent.
12) Never enter your account info on any other site besides official Jagex sites.
13) Run an up-to-date Anti-virus system and make sure you update it regularly. Also be sure to Malware scan your computer.
14) Add website advertisers to your ignore list and report them using the report button instead.
15) If you are think you have a keylogger or virus, do not enter your Runescape account details anywhere until you are sure you have it removed.
16) Link your Runescape account with your Facebook account. Be sure your Facebook account has a separate password to be more secure.
17) Enable JAG on your account through the runescape website.
